This video documents the remarkable story of Reinhard Gehlen, the former Head of the West German Secret Service. Gehlen was Hitler's Chief of Intelligence on the Russian Front during World War Two, but he secreted his files to the Americans. The information that the Americans gained formed the basis of the CIA, set up in 1947. He retired on a CIA pension, and died in 1979. Contains original archive film.
