Description

Box set of the series documenting paranormal phenomena. In 'Castle Leslie' the eponymous South Irish castle is examined for its supernatural heritage, as the Leslie family explain how they keep encountering spiritual forms of their long-dead ancestors within the building. In 'Ghosthunters at Work' we travel to the Bell Inn, somewhere in the east of England. A couple recount how their stay in the bridal suite was interrupted by visitors of an entirely unexpected kind. In 'Phantom Fisherman' a family is terrorised in their home by a strange 'presence', eventually traced to an 18th century fisherman who was killed on the site of their home. His spirit is finally laid to rest by professionals. In 'Echoes from Beyond the Grave' the mysterious case of a dead motorcyclist is examined. Near the site of the accident, at a small inn, strange ghostlike activity is reported. The daughter of the inn-keeper even reports communicating with the dead biker when cross-examined by a medium. In 'The Possession' a couple are struck by a case of demonic possession following the husband's participation in some dark rituals in his hometown of Mississippi. A psychic investigator tries to establish a link between this and his wife's 'possession'. In 'The Priest and the Professor' a Belgian professor of psychology and a Catholic priest grapple with the problem of possession from both secular and religious viewpoints. This segment includes a scene of actual exorcism that some viewers might find disturbing. In 'Legends of the Legionnaires' the show examines the legacy of the Roman burial grounds in York and Colchester, England. Do dead legionnaires still stalk the land as some have claimed to witness? 'Spirits of the Civil War' takes a look at a related phenomenon involving spirits from the Battle of Marston Moor, where King Charles' army was hacked to bits and mostly dumped in mass graves. Finally in 'The Phantom Schoolmaster' the site of a burned-down school outside London plays host to a variety of strange happenings. leading to the conclusion that the old headmaster still stalks the school grounds in ghostly form. In 'Spirits of Bodmin Moor' the barren Cornish uplands turn out to be host for a variety of witnessed spiritual and ghostly goings-on. In 'Mysteries of the George Inn' a traditional British Inn plays host to a selection of spooky phenomena. Finally in 'Phantom Pilot' a dead second World War flyer re-appears to some over the area in which his plane went down. A spook or just the working of imagination?
