Farming Simulator, the standard bearer for the growing farming sim genre, is back with a brand new entry to the series that adds new layers of depth. The headline addition is seasonal cycles, which really is a game-changer. It might not seem like a big deal to the uninitiated city slickers among us, but it adds a whole new layer of strategy and management to a game that has previously been mostly about driving massive vehicles around (don't worry, there are still plenty of massive vehicles for you to drive around - FM22 boasts 400 machines from over 100 brands - and they're as satisfying as ever). Now, if you want to grow your farm and increase profits you'll need to carefully plan your growing cycles, layering different crops into the calendar for sowing, growing and harvesting before they wither on the vine. The other big new change to how you'll play is the introduction of production cycles. These involve not only growing and harvesting your produce, but also selling and processing it. You might transport your grain to a mill for turning into flour, then get it baked into bread. You might go even further and start growing strawberries and sugar in order to bake cakes and really get some of that sweet verticality into your growing business. Farming Simulator 22 also boasts a ton of other features, tweaks and enhancements, including multiplayer for up to 16 players, two new maps (and an improved Alpine map), new crops and improved customisation!
