Good Housekeeping best menus

The Good Housekeeping Institute have compiled a guide to giving dinner parties. For each occasion a complete menu is provided, with recipes for every course, which make the most of foods when they are in season, especially fruits and vegetables.;The menus cover a range of different occasions and cuisines, including a Chinese meal for four people, a Middle Eastern dinner for six, a summer buffet for twelve, an informal vegetarian supper for ten, a light summer lunch for six and a traditional Sunday lunch for eight.;A countdown plan is provided, listing dishes which can be prepared in advance and a timetable for the preparation and cooking of dishes on the evening.;Suitable wines are suggested by Jane MacQuitty, "Good Housekeeping's" Wine Editor to accompany each course of the meal.;Each menu features a full colour photograph of the table setting, accompanied by individual shots of the different dishes.;Useful tips are included, giving advice on the best raw ingredients to choose, recipe variations, cooking hints and serving suggestions.
