Description

Documentary that examines the rise of a new genre of music, psychedelia, in 1960s San Francisco. The Grateful Dead were the most famous of the psychedelia bands, with their offbeat, drug-influenced take on traditional American forms such as blues, country and rock and roll characteristic of the movement as a whole. This documentary tells the story of the band and their musical peers, including Big Brother and the Holding Company, Jefferson Airplane and The Charlatans, in the heady days they spent at the forefront of a new cultural movement.
