Two documentaries made up of colour footage of two great events in the more recent history of Britain. 'The British Empire in Colour' comprises all three parts of the documentary series looking at the 200 year history of the British Empire. Features rare early colour film footage and narration by Art Malik. Whilst 'Britain at War in Colour' is the entire documentary series which used colour film footage and extracts from letters and diaries to describe what life was like in wartime Britain. Events featured include a royal visit to Warrington, the Battle of Britain, Moseley's Blackshirts marching on the Embankment, British POWs being liberated in Burma, and the D-Day landings. Also included is the classic wartime documentary 'The Memphis Belle' (1943), directed by Hollywood legend William Wyler ('Roman Holiday', 'Ben Hur') and John Thaw narrates.
