The Lego franchise has been a popular one right from the word go. They have shown children just how much you can do with a couple of building blocks. Not content with having conquered the toy world, Lego decided to put it on them selves to make an interactive racing game for all major platforms, including PlayStation. This is - Lego Racers! Sharing a few similarities with Nintendo classic, Mario Kart, Lego Racers is a light-hearted game that incorporates some truly fiendish computer controlled opponents. Before beginning a race you are given the opportunity to build both your driver and car. Drivers and cars are fully customisable and once you get into the game you will see just how diverse each of the race's landscapes are; accommodating for the design of any car. Locations range from the sweat infested deserts to the vacuumed chasms of space. While no single track affects your ability to drive properly, there are weapons to be collected that will make each race much more interesting. You can either use each weapon you obtain immediately, or collect power ups on the track to make your attack more devastating. It seems strange that although Lego Racers is targeted towards a young audience, the challenge of the game is so tasking. Nevertheless, those of you, old or young, who manage to finish Lego Racers can call yourselves accomplished games players.
