This book examines the philisophies, purposes, methods and functions of those museums which address themselves to the recording and explanation of people's history.;There are now more museums devoted to the recent past than ever before and as a result history curatorship has become a distinct area of professional practice and a dynamic part of the museums profession.;This book considers the ideas and methods that underpin history curatorship and places this against the background of history museum development.
