Description

Three episodes from the acclaimed 'Scorched Earth' series, telling the story of Germany's WWII military operations in Russia. In 'Army Group Centre', the focus is on the advance toward Moscow. In 'Army Group North', it is the siege of Leningrad and the subsequent 1944 retreat to the borders of the Reich which come under scrutiny. And in 'Army Group South', it is the capture of Crimea, the battle for Stalingrad and the failure of Operation Citadel, which form the principal focus. All three episodes employ archive footage, maps, graphics, and analysis by such leading historians as Professor John Erickson and Stephen Walsh.
