Each spread is designed to show similar-looking species together for easy identification. But as well as being easy to use, it is completely comprehensive, with detailed identification illustrations showing the male, female and juvenile plumages for every species.

Alongside the artwork for each species, a colour map shows breeding and wintering locations, so you know when and where you're likely to see it. There are also clear voice descriptions of songs and calls.

Species are arranged into their families are accompanied by 'notebook' pages describing and illustrating habitats, breeding and feeding behaviour and flight patterns.
