Description

Ikai is a tense, atmospheric supernatural horror game set in feudal Japan. In the village, people are getting scared. There's blood on the leaves of the surrounding forest, and it's getting closer. Rumours creep through the village, and locals talk of a new demon seeking to cross over from the underworld. The local priest heads to the village, leaving the local shrine in the care of her niece, the priestess, who puts the talk of demons and yokai down to superstitious fear-mongering. Until, in the murky forest, she falls and slips into a state of semi-consciousness, and the demons begin to emerge from the undergrowth. Ikai is all about immersion and fear. It doesn't do much to hold your hand, delivering the story through the game's environment and leaving you to work out how to handle the yokai for yourself. You can't fight - you can only run and hide. But, by solving a series of arcane puzzles and carefully drawing protective seals you might just survive the night...
