At heart, One Piece Odyssey is a classic turn-based RPG in a style that will feel very near and dear to Dragon Quest fans. If might not seem like the most obvious genre choice for the action-centric One Piece manga and anime, but it has a lot going for it. For starters, the unique art style of One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda is a really rich base for the world that ILCA has brought to life. It's absolutely rife with weird, interesting characters and environments. That idiosyncrasy is present and accounted for in your Straw Hat party too, of course, and they offer up loads of strange, delightful and funny special attack options when you get into a turn-based tussle. The game's story takes place on two fronts. The first is the mysterious island of Waford, where Luffy and his pirate crew have been marooned. They meet two new characters: Lim and Adio. They're a bit suspicious of pirates and so immediately pinch all your abilities, giving you a conveniently de-powered place to start from. You quickly team up, however, and get to work helping them rid Waford of the elemental collossi plaguing the island. The second front is Memoria, a land of memory created by Lim's special ability in which you'll visit key events from the Straw Hats' history. The result is not only a winning new adventure, but also a tour de force through One Piece history!
