Description

Documentary on the ancient Egyptian tradition of mummification, narrated by Christopher Lee (who starred in the 1959 motion picture, 'The Mummy'). The Egyptians believed that they could gain better control over their destinies by mummifying their ancestors as a sign of respect, since they believed their fates were at the will of the gods. A team of scientists and explorers attempt to gain insight into the medicine and technology of today by studying that of the past. They use advanced DNA technology to reconstruct mummies, and decipher ancient manuscripts.
