Made in 1941 by the Crown Film Unit, 'Ferry Pilot' was directed by Pat Jackson and focuses on the work of the Air Transport Auxiliary or ATA. By 1941, literally hundreds of RAF fighters and bombers needed to be flown each day between aircraft factories. This dramatised documentary features coverage of ATA's own fleet of Ansons, as well as being notable for some Spitfire film and rare footage of the Whitley bomber. Also included is a bonus film made in 1944 which looks at the work of Maintenance Command.
