Description

Four years on and the English team have struggled to re-capture the form that made them World Champions in Sydney. Starting with the departure of Andy Robinson after the team's struggles in the autumn internationals, the programme heralds the beginning of a new era under Brian Ashton. It follows a hamstrung, demoralized team through embarrassing defeats to encouraging almost-wons and the few signs that this team of champions might, in the face of strengthening teams from Rugby giants like New Zealand and Australia, be on track. Can England, after a patchy showing and defeats to Wales and Ireland in the spring, recapture its fleet-footed magic in time for the next World Cup in Autumn of 2007 in neighboring France. Featuring interviews with Johnny Wilkinson, Mike Catt and Phil Vickery and behind the scenes footage, this documentary is the ideal precursor to the '07 World Cup action.
