Inside stories - Peter Benton

This is the 2nd volume is a four-volume series of short story anthologies designed to encourage students to explore the nature of story and narrative and the acts of reading and critical response. This book is aimed at Year 8 pupils and contains 25 short stories. Key features include: combines a teaching anthology with a more general reader, contains an unusually large number of stories (approximately 25) for a school anthology, the stories are extremely varied (in terms of period and country of origin) and features a high proportion of women writers, activities are equally varied and cover all aspects of the English curriculum, and is suitable material for Reading and Writing programmes of study in the National Curriculum. Peter Benton is the co-author, with his brother Michael, of "Touchstones", "Examining Poetry" and "Double Vision". Sue Benton is the co-author of the "Beginnings" series.
