WarioWare is back with Get it Together! Will you? Maybe. Just. As in installations dating back to the Gameboy, it's a frantic selection of minigames that leaves you delightedly hanging on by the seat of your pants. Eat apples! Shoot a bow and arrow! Spin the arms of a swimmer! Dodge a statue that's falling over! Bury a cat poop with litter! Brew some tea! This is, as ever, a weird and surprisingly wonderful array of minigames. The look and feel changes with each and every game - line art gives way to watercolour, which passes the baton to anime, then suddenly you're looking at a perfect recreation of the Gameboy aesthetic, covering subjects which careen from space to gardening to fairy tales. What holds it all together is a sense of anarchy and unpredictability (if either of those things could be considered any kind of glue). There's also an interesting structure underpinning this entry to the series, though. You have an array of characters with oddball abilities at your disposal, and you have to pick a gang of them for each batch of minigames. The problem then, of course, is anticipating which characters will work for the upcoming games. And you probably can't. The good news is that while Wario's jetpack might work well for dodging a falling statue, you can probably just about make it work for pushing a teabag around a mug, too. There's a social element this time out, too, with microgames supporting two-player co-op that has each player using a Joy-Con or playing wirelessly.
