Description

Pacific Drive is an atmospheric and borderline surreal take on the survival genre from Ironwood Studios. After some suspect activity from a group called ARDA, America's Pacific Northwest has been cut off from the rest of the world and is now referred to as the Olympic Exclusion Zone. It's littered with weird anomalies that give off a vibe a bit like a less oozy version of Jeff Vandermeer's Annihilation. As one of a handful of scientists working inside the zone to unlock its secrets, your role is to explore this strange environment in your semi-sentient car. Yes, that's right. The deciding factor in your success will be how handy you are in maintaining your quirky vehicle. If you think we've wandered into oddball anime territory here, you're dead wrong. Pacific Drive plays things straight, and your drives along the strange, atmospheric roads of the Olympic Exclusion Zone are punctuated by stints in your customisable garage as you try to keep your vehicle (which you're psychically linked to, by the way) running. To make things even weirder, sometimes the car will try to trip you up, Herbie-style, and you'll need to complete a series of 'if X, then Y' logic puzzles to stop it misbehaving. Pacific Drive is a rich, complex survival game that loops together all sorts of different systems into a dense tapestry that will delight the right kind of player. A strange journey into the new weird awaits!
