Description

Full coverage of the 1982 World Cup Final match between Italy and West Germany at the Bernabeu Stadium, Madrid. After a series of tough matches to reach the final, West Germany did not appear as confident as Italy. However, there were no goals in the first half. The pace changed in the second half as Italy soon took charge of the game scoring three goals. The West Germans managed to score a late goal in the 83rd minute but Italian victory was already secured and they picked up their first World Cup title in 48 years.
