It seems that with every 007 game that's come along since the 1997 masterpiece Goldeneye, developers have been found wanting. All glitz and glamour, the whizzbang theatrics and sumptuous visuals of games such as Nightfire and Agent Under Fire have entertained well enough, but not really given gamers the real feel of Being James Bond. Not like Goldeneye. Everything or Nothing may just be the Bond adventure to persuade you to put away the N64, however.
Everything or Nothing offers a depth of gameplay not seen since Rare's legendary 1997 release, with its genre-spanning action. Beat 'em up, shoot 'em up and stealth 'em up are the main courses in this game, with a side order of high speed combative driving and motorcycle riding to boot. And then there's the gadgets - after all, this is Bond, and where there's a 00 agent, Q is never far away from revealing some new-fangled magical tool to help James on his way through the game.
With so many different types of gameplay involved, getting to grips with the controls can be a bit daunting at first. Once you are in control, Everything or Nothing becomes everything you would hope for from the super-powerful combination that is Electronic Arts and the Bond licence, and then some. From a mountain fortress in Peru, to a secret facility in Egypt, through to Red Square in Moscow, Everything or Nothing's action quotient is high. And with the solo adventure conquered, gamers can then take part in two-player co-op missions and arena-style combat with up to four players to make this 007 adventure even more VFM.
So, the combination of an original storyline, the presence of the central characters from the Pierce Brosnan era Bond films, and some inventive and varied gameplay...it all makes Everything or Nothing a must-have for gamers who like a bit of everything.
