Autobiographical drama written and directed by Chilean film-maker Alejandro Jodorowsky. The film follows Jodorowsky (Adan Jodorowsky/Jeremas Herskovits) from his teenage years, where he longs to become a poet despite the objections of his oppressive father (Brontis Jodorowsky), to ingratiating himself into Chile's artistic scene at the bohemian Caf Iris in downtown Santiago in the 1940s. It's there that he befriends fellow poets including Enrique Lihn (Leandro Taub), Stella Daz Varn (Pamela Flores) and Nicanor Parra (Felipe Ros) and gives himself over to some wild new experiences while trying to find his place in the world.
