PAUL RICHARDS was born and bred in King's Lynn. He studied for both B.A. and Ph.D. degrees in History at Birmingham University, followed by teacher training at Nottingham University. He returned to Lynn to lecture at the Norfolk College of Arts and Technology, where he became head of adult continuing education.
Dr Richards has also taught classes in local history for the W.E.A. and Cambridge University extra-mural board. He has written articles for academic books and journals.
A town guide, Dr Richards enjoys giving tours and talks about Lynn, and is involved in projects to develop local history facilities, as well as being interested in collecting old prints. He has also contributed to several radio and television programmes featuring the town.
