Directorial debut of Emily Young, a young British director and graduate of the Lodz Film School, which tells the story of Helen (played by Lithuanian actress Ingeborga Dapkunaite), a housewife living in London who is killed in a car accident while taking her two children to school one morning. Her husband John (Peter Mullan) is an aid worker who is working in Bosnia, and remains unaware for some time that his wife has died. Meanwhile Helen, caught in limbo between life and death, watches her father and children struggle to come to terms with her death, as her husband is on his way home oblivious to what he is going back to and struggling through dangerous territories.
