"Klasse! 1" is the first stage of a three-part German course, catering for a wide range of abilities. It is fully in line with the Neue Rechtschreibung and comes complete with a "Euro pack" (including updated Student's Book, Workbook and Repromaster pages, and cassette recordings), making the transition to the Euro in 2002 as straightforward as possible. A software package (Klasse! Informatik), available from Camsoft, provides an integrated IT component that enables students to practise and improve their German while using the computer.;The Students' Book has nine topic-based units designed for maximum clarity and ease of use, working in two-page spreads that give clear objectives for students. Four teenagers from the German town of Wesel provide a meaningful context for the presentation of key language. New skills, grammar, and vocabulary are carefully phased in and recycled in later units.
