This is the story of one such year, from freezing January, through burgeoning Spring, to high Summer and blustery Autumn, and on to wintry December. Under the chestnut's spreading branches live a family of foxes, but they are not the only inhabitants. Badger, hare and hedgehog live nearby, as do the robins, spiders and ants. They all have their place, and all must follow the law of the wild.
