Triple pack of programmes profiling three legendary men from the Wild West. The first programme looks at Daniel Boone (1734-1820). Daniel Boone was the man whose life defined the image of the American frontier pioneer. Born in a log cabin in Berks County, Pennsylvania, 1734, he became an expert hunter and guide. More than any other man, Daniel Boone was responsible for the exploration and settlement of Kentucky. From an early age he undertook numerous explorations of unmapped spaces blazing a trail west. The second documentary focuses on Crazy Horse (1840-1877). Crazy Horse - the young, mystical leader of the Sioux has come to symbolise Indian resistance to the white advance westward. His leadership in the 1876 defeat of custer's 7th Cavalry at Little Bighorn made him the most famous Indian warrior in America. His demise was a sad one. Betrayed by his own people he was bayoneted in the back whilst being held by his former friend, Little Big Man. Finally, the third programme looks at Geronimo (1829-1909). Geronimo was a peaceful young Apache. However, that all changed one night when his mother, wife, and three children were killed by Mexican soldiers. On that fateful night, he became one of the boldest warriors of all time. Originally, Goyathlay, 'One Who Yawns', Geronimo became the most famous Apache for standing against the U.S. government and for holding out the longest.
