For each weekday of Lent, from Monday to Friday, an exercise of prayer and reflection is offered in light of a chosen weekly theme, along with a "Personal exercise" to help focus this activity. The theme and the focus of the prayer is the readings for the following Sunday's Mass. Each daily exercise leads to a 'Lenten Prayer' and a line of scared scripture given a the foot of each page. These short scriptural quotations have been chosen because they capture the theme of the week and can easily be committed to memory.;The idea is to remember the quote of scripture for each day as often as is practically possible. In this way the theme and the presence of Jesus will be recalled because it is his voice that is heard when the sacred scriptures are attended to in faith. Saturday is seen as a day to take stock and reflect on the past week;For each week, an outline is given for a small group meeting on the subject of the week and to read and reflect on the Sunday readings in preparation for the liturgy
