Description

Chinese drama starring Hong Tao as Shuang Yang Lai, a beautiful single woman who runs a small restaurant in Shanghai that has come under threat by big business. Although not actually a mother, Shuang Yang has assumed a matriarchal role within her family and juggles the care of her young nephew and concern about her junkie brother with attempts to regain possession of the family home that was lost during the Cultural Revolution, as well as running the restaurant. When she becomes involved with a powerful businessman, Shuang Yang starts to entertain hopes that her lonely life might change, and that happiness is within reach. However, it transpires that his interests are at odds with her own.
