Newsday journalist Lauren Terrazzano loved what she did. Often uncovering urgent stories about social issues such as elder care, abused children, and the homeless, Lauren was passionate, compassionate, and intelligent, and she became a voice for the voiceless through her writing by taking global issues and personalizing them. But Lauren's biggest breaking news came when she was diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of thirty-six.
