Description

Gold and Glory: The Road to El Dorado is the game based on the similarly-titled animated feature film released by Dreamworks, not to be confused with the Anglo/Spanish soap flop from the nineties. Miguel and Tulio, the unlikely heroes of the film and game, are a couple of Spanish thieves, and they're on the run. This is where your PC adventure will begin. After haggling around the local market, you will eventually acquire a map to get to El Dorado, supposedly a city of gold. You take control of the leading men with a simply-designed set of controls, used only for manoeuvring around the static, pre-rendered locations featured in the big screen version. El Dorado is essentially an exploratory adventure where you must interact with strangers, haggle, trade, and even steal to get to the city of fortune that is El Dorado. Gold and Glory will maybe only appeal to gamers and movie fans who have already seen the film, but Miguel and Tulio are a couple of likeable enough characters, and youngsters will find this experience totally entrancing, whether they've seen the film or not. And parents, entrancement means peace and quiet!
