Description

All six episodes from the BBC adaptation of the novel by Mark Twain starring Nicholas Lyndhurst. In a random encounter the heir to the throne of England, Prince Edward (Lyndhurst), meets a similarly aged boy who looks identical to him. The only difference is that Tom Canty (Lyndhurst) is a pauper's son. As the pair get to know one another they decide to switch places for a brief spell of time so each can experience the other's vastly different life. However, a number of events mean they spend longer than intended in their different identities. Will Tom and Edward be able to convince their separate worlds that they are not who they say they are?
