Description

Highlights from one of United's more successful decades. After a lacklustre decade in the 70s, a lot more was expected from the team and, after finishing second to Liverpool in the 1979/80 season, the team looked set to go onto greater things with the hope of gaining another division title. But Liverpool dominated the decade, won seven titles and the Red Devils finished runner-up on 2 occasions. They did however manage two FA Cup wins and a Cup-Winner's Cup quarter final, under manager Ron Atkinson and captain Bryan Robson. Includes profiles on star players Mark Hughes, Jimmy and Bryan Greenhoff, Steve Coppell, Ray Wilkins, Gary Shaw as well as Robson himself.
