Description

The official documentary on one of the greatest and most controversial footballers ever. Best has been compared with the likes of Pele, Cruyff and Maradonna as he had some of their own talent in his game. He dazzled the crowds, whether playing for Manchester United or for his country, Northern Ireland. But his successes also brought him a lavish and excessive lifestyle of women and drink. These things were to be his downfall and here we see just how destructive he became and how his drinking forced his career into a steady decline, culminating in him walking out on Manchester United at 26 in 1972. He did return though, a year later, but it was never the same. Includes insights from players and managers alike, including Tommy Docherty, Alex Stepney, Jim Ryan, Sir Bobby Charlton, and family members Dick and Alex Best.
