Maternal and infant nutrition and nurture - Victoria Hall Moran

This book discusses cutting edge research related to the short and longer term effects of nutrition on health, and of the nature of the relationship between mother and infant as a consequence of nutritive and nurturing behaviour.
The book utilises a socio-biological perspective; that is a perspective that recognises complex interactions between political, socio-cultural and biological factors in food and health. It lluminates some of the many challenges and considerable controversies inherent in the field.
The diversity within this book reflects the vast pool of expertise involved in compiling the book. The contributors to this book represent the disciplines of anthropology, breastfeeding peer support, health visiting, midwifery, nursing, nutritional physiology and voluntary accredited breastfeeding supporters and counsellors form the Breastfeeding Network and the National Childbirth Trust.
