British biographical drama centred around the childhood and family life of journalist and author Sathnam Sanghera. Growing up in a Sikh family in Wolverhampton, young Sathnam (Himmut Singh Datt) experienced an emotional and turbulent upbringing with a schizophrenic father and discovering later that his sister too suffered with the mental illness. Struggling to maintain two separate lives as an adult living in London, Sathnam (Sacha Dhawan) keeps his private life a secret from his family so as not to cause any upset as he dates white girls and must find a way to tell his mother he will not marry a Sikh woman.
