The contributions to this book consider recent developments in the protection and care of twentieth-century buildings and examines the philosophical, methodological and practical problems associated with conserving our recent past. Part I discusses philosophy, protection and management. Part II investigates the progress that has been made in dealing with the practical issues of conserving modern buildings, with special attention given to common materials such as concrete and metal windows. A selection of international case studies provide useful examples of the problems that may be encountered.
