All three series of the BBC show in which marine biologist Monty Halls sets up home in a remote corner of Britain to investigate the local wildlife, culture and landscape. In 'Monty Halls' Beachcomber Cottage' Monty and his trusty dog, Reuben, set up home just off a beach on the west coast of Scotland. As well as learning how to grow and catch his own food, Monty becomes involved with the local community and takes part in the famous Glamaig Hill Race. In 'Monty Halls' Great Hebridean Escape' Monty and Reuben leave the big city behind to experience life on a remote island in the Outer Hebrides. As well as travelling to the Monach Islands, host of over 20,000 grey seals, Monty sets out to explore St Kilda, the UK's only double World Heritage site. In 'Monty Halls's Great Irish Escape' Monty travels to Connemara on the west coast of Ireland to help the Irish Whale and Dolphin Conservation Group. Monty also takes time to get to know some of the people who inhabit this remote but beautiful stretch of coastline.
