A central figure of the New Zealand underground since his days in The Rip in the 1980s, Alastair Galbraith has worked alongside scores of Kiwi legends as a multi-instrumentalist and solo artist. 'Morse', originally released in 1993, has mutable, unfussy arrangements, for acoustic and electric guitar, piano, violin, and some proper post-VU thudding - gathering and crumbling around obliquely-phrased double-tracked vocals, and sharing an enigmatic yet intuitive emotional quality with much NZ music of the period.
