Paris, 1989: Aimee Leduc is going through a rough patch: she's about to fail medical college, her boyfriend is engaged to someone else and her father has skipped town and asked Aimee to look after the office. Aimee volunteers to take on a case involving an executed distant relative, in which her only task is to follow up on a lead, not to solve the murder. She soon finds herself dragged into a revenge scheme that leads back to the ravages of the second World War and a missing treasure trove of stolen Nazi gold.
