Description

Finnish family adventure drama. After the death of her husband, Laila (Vuokko Hovatta) is driven mad by grief and abandons her young daughter Salla in the wilderness. The child is cared for by a pack of wolves until she is rescued and adopted by police officer Antii (Kari-Pekka Toivonen) and his wife Kirsti (Miia Nuutila). But as Salla (Tiia Talvisara) reaches womanhood, her past comes back to haunt her with the unexpected return of her mother and the launch of a new campaign to re-introduce wolf hunting. Salla sets out to protect the animals who saved her life years before. Meanwhile she struggles to relate to her long-estranged mother and also to come to terms with her feelings of jealousy when her stepmother, Kirsti, announces that she is pregnant.
