Triple bill of classic National Lampoon holidaying. In 'National Lampoon's Vacation' (1983) West Coast's Walley World theme park is the holiday destination for the Griswold family, who intend to drive cross-country from their Chicago base. Father Clark (Chevy Chase) has planned the trip down to its last detail, but the trouble begins as soon as they hit the road. Unexpectedly forced to share car space with grumpy aunt Edna, and missing out on their chance to see the world's largest ball of twine, their woe is complete when they arrive at Walley World - to find that it has closed down. 'National Lampoon's European Vacation' (1985) has the Griswalds winning a trip to Europe, but contrary to their expectations, it is not a luxurious, all-expenses-paid kind of trip, but rather a cut-price, economy deal which takes them to some of the Old World's seedier locations. Of course, it's not long before they are caught up in all manner of misadventures. And 'National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation' (1997) sees the Griswald family off to Las Vegas for the holiday of a lifetime. Unfortunately Clark is soon transformed into a compulsive gambler, daughter Audrey becomes an exotic dancer, and son Rusty begins posing as a suave high roller. Will Clark's wife Ellen (Beverley d'Angelo) forgive him his flaws and reunite the family? It's hardly a safe bet.
