The Arab-Andalousian music of North Africa was banished from the Iberian peninsular when Grenada fell in 1492. Originally only considered suitable for slaves and slave-singers (under Arabic religious laws music all forms of music was considered immoral), one of the 16 noubas is performed here by the Albacyn Ensemble at the Festival de l'Imaginaire in Montpelier, France.
