Little King's Story on the Wii was one of those hidden-away gems that got tons of critical acclaim but did very little by way of sales. Fans of the original real-time strategy/role-playing game/city building and management game will be pretty chuffed that the game didn't get banished to the IP dungeon and is getting a new lease of life thanks to a follow-up on the PlayStation Vita.
Picking up where the original left off, players take charge of the kingdom from the original game. Unfortunately, monsters are everywhere and things are a bit of a mess. Not only will you have to do away with them - you'll also have to rebuild everything from scratch.
So it is that you trot off into the countryside to get on with it. Not only will you be able to tackle monsters yourself, you'll also be able to recruit villagers. They'll follow you into battle, or otherwise dig holes, chop down trees and do whatever else you fancy. They can't all be multi-talented, though, so you'll have to plan carefully and assign them classes.
It's a big, ambitious game with much to be done, but Marvelous Interactive has made the game gloriously simple and accessible. If you haven't played the previous game don't worry - this is a perfect jumping-on point.
