Among the artists discussed are: Alfred Stieglitz, Jacob Riis, Georgia O'Keefe, John Sloan, Childe Hassam, and George Bellows. He also looks at the post World War II-period and the shocking visual prospect of a New York skyline without the Twin Towers.
