Description

Series combining animated children's television with the introduction of basic elements of language learning - in this case Mandarin Chinese. The action centres around the character of Kai-lan (voiced by Jade-Lianna Peters), an enthusiastic and expressive young girl who can speak both English and Mandarin and enjoys sharing the gift of her bilingual abilities. Kai-lan has a close relationship with her grandfather YeYe (Clem Cheung) and her friends Tolee the koala (Khamani Griffin), Rintoo the tiger (Jack Samson) and Hoho the monkey (Angie Wu), but in the world of the child problems invariably occur. Kai-lan's special gift is the ability to take a step back from fall-outs, to consider the differing perspective of others, and to reconcile with her friends and injured parties.
