Description

Military documentary narrated by Michael Leighton, examining the prolonged battle between the Royal Navy, the Merchant Fleet, and the German U-Boats for control of the North Atlantic trade routes which kept Britain supplied with provisions and weapons in the early stages of the war. Nearly 80,000 British sailors were killed over the course of the war, and 70 percent of all U-Boat crews were killed in action. Using archive footage, rare photographs, interviews with surviving veterans, and expert analysis.
