A good place to begin a visit to the North York Moors is at one of two National Park Centres, to be found at Danby and Sutton Bank. Fascinating displays and exhibitions offer an ideal introduction, and the short walks from each illustrate disparate aspects of the moor, demonstrating its capacity for beauty and surprise. other walks in this collection reveal some of the Moor's most outstanding natural features; the dramatic Hole of Horcum, the enigmatic rocks at Bridestones and the splendid tumbling waters of Falling Foss. As well as exploring the high moors, where the strange calling of grouse is never far away, wander through verdant dales such as the beautiful Farndale, whose Lenten lilies carpet the riverside meadows in celebration of spring's arrival.
