Knot of Scorpions is the horrifying confession of a crime of passion, but also the story of another unredeemed passion: that of British writer D. H. Lawrence for Mexico, for Frieda von Richtofen, for literature and for a dream that he held his whole life: to create an artists' colony in some far-off place, a phalanstery of kindred intellectuals, friends who want to leave it all to follow him on his pilgrimage and his madness; that idea which, one hundred years later, moves Fernando to create his own commune-his ashram of love-in the center of Oaxaca.
