This fourth volume of the series chronicling the history of tank warfare in World War Two features the Allied success in driving the Germans from Sicily and the retreat of the Nazis from the Eastern and Western fronts. Montgomery and Rommel continued to lock horns following D-Day until the latter's suicide, while General Patton broke through the German Panzer defences on the Western front. The last major Panzer offensive of the war came with Germany's surprise attack at the Battle of the Bulge.
