The paper-thin puppy rapper first appeared in 1997 on Sony PlayStation, one of the earliest examples of a rhythm-based musical adventure. 10 years on and PaRappa comes to Sony's handheld, having barely changed from the original. The PSP version features all the characters, levels and songs from the 1997 game, and increases the pup's social appeal with a host of PSP-exclusive features, including the facility for up to four consoles to go head-to-head in ad-hoc battles; wirelessly share a demo level through Game Share; and use the PSP Infrastructure Mode to download eight additional playable remixes for players to rap along to. Parappa The Rapper for PSP stays true to its stylish flattened animation technique and gameplay (PaRappa translates from Japanese as 'paper thin') combining loveable characters with groovy music and an amusing storyline. The catchy music and lyrics accompany PaRappa as he raps his way into the heart of the game's love interest, Sunny Funny. Using rhythm, timing and coordination, players can nod their heads along with PaRappa and a the rest of the cast as they come back for just one more crack at 'getting the girl'. Players have to press a series of buttons to help PaRappa mimic the actions and lyrics of the Masters. As your level of skill progresses, you'll be able to break into a freestyle session, giving you the freedom to create a new gameplay experience with each go.
